Men sprint postponed to Friday: Tickets from Thursday remain valid for Friday

The men sprint competition will be postponed from Thursday, 4 January 2024 to Friday, 5 January 2024 at 11.20 am. This was decided today by the organisers of the BMW IBU Biathlon 2024 World Cup in Oberhof in close consultation with the International Biathlon Union (IBU). The women sprint will take place on Friday, 5 January 2024 as scheduled at 2.25 pm.

The aim of the decision is to offer the athletes fair competition conditions. Scattered wind peaks and further precipitation are forecast for Thursday. According to the forecast, the weather should improve from Friday. Sub-zero temperatures are forecast for the weekend.

Thursday's tickets remain valid for Friday. Biathlon fans are therefore cordially invited to watch both sprints on Friday. Fans who have purchased seated tickets will receive a new ticket for the seated grandstand by e-mail. Appointments booked for Thursday for backstage tours and the biathlon shooting will be held and these tickets are not transferable to Friday.

Voucher for the BMW IBU World Cup Biathlon 2025

Fans who bought tickets for Thursday and cannot be in Oberhof on Friday have the opportunity to receive a voucher worth the ticket price. This voucher can be redeemed for the BMW IBU World Cup Biathlon 2025 in Oberhof in the official ticket online shop tickets.biathlon-oberhof.de. To receive the voucher, fans must send an email to tickets@skideutschland.de by 31 January 2024, stating the purchaser's name and invoice number.

For fans in the ARENA am Rennsteig, the exclusive pre-sale for the BMW IBU World Cup Biathlon 2025 in Oberhof starts on Friday, 05 January 2024. Online sales start on Sunday, 07 January 2024 at 4 pm.

There will be no shuttle service tomorrow (Thursday) due to the postponement. The shuttles  from the P+R car parks in Ohrdruf, Suhl-Nord and Steinbach-Hallenberg will start on Friday, 05 January 2024 at 7.30 am. The hut village opens at 8 am, the stadium at 9 am.
