After the World Championships is before the World Cup: Advance ticket sales for the BMW IBU World Cup Biathlon 2024 start on 24 August

Biathlon fans must mark this date in red in their calendars: On Thursday, 24 August at 9 a.m. the advance ticket sales for the BMW IBU World Cup 2024 in Oberhof will start. The organisers have attractive offers for families and companies.

After the World Championships in February this year, Oberhof will once again be transformed into a biathlon madhouse in January 2024. If you want to be there live for the six competitions of the BMW IBU World Cup Biathlon 2024 in the ARENA am Rennsteig and experience the best biathletes in the world, you should make a note of 24 August 2023. The official advance sale of the coveted tickets starts at 9 a.m. sharp. They can be purchased at the ticket shop at www.biathlon-oberhof.de and at the Tourist Information Oberhof (Crawinkler Straße 2, 98559 Oberhof).

"We are looking forward to every fan who supports us in transferring the unique World Cup atmosphere to the World Cup and continuing the history of biathlon sport in Oberhof after the title fights. We are already really stepping on the gas in the preparations to once again be able to offer visitors a unique winter sports experience," says Bernd Wernicke, managing director of Oberhof Sport und Event GmbH and OC boss.

Day and season tickets for six competitions

The BMW IBU World Cup Biathlon 2024 will take place in the first week of January and thus during the Christmas holidays of many German states. The men's sprint is scheduled for Thursday (04 January 2024, 14.20 hrs), the women's sprint for Friday (05 January 2024, 14.25 hrs). On Saturday (06 January 2024), the men's (12.25 hrs) and women's (14.40 hrs) pursuit races are on the programme. On Sunday, the World Cup will conclude with the men's relay (11.30 am) and women's relay (2.25 pm).

Day and season tickets are available in the upper and lower tiers of the ARENA am Rennsteig and at the track. Seating tickets, VIP tickets and tickets for wheelchair users are also on sale. However, the forest grandstand will not be erected at the BMW IBU World Cup Biathlon 2024. As announced in the aftermath of the World Championships, the prices for the World Cup have been reduced - by an average of five euros per ticket. "It is important for us to keep our promise to the fans and let them enjoy the live event," Bernd Wernicke emphasises.

Attractive offers for families and companies

For the BMW IBU World Cup Biathlon 2024, the organiser has two innovations in store. "We have put together attractive packages that, among other things, open up new target groups and thus bear fruit for years to come. After all, anyone who has once experienced a biathlon race at the Rennsteig will be happy to come back," explains Bernd Wernicke.

A family ticket is offered for the sprint competitions on Thursday and Friday. If an adult buys a ticket for family block A, which is located directly at the shooting range, a child up to the age of 17 will receive free admission. At the weekend, children over the age of 10 have to pay full admission.

The business ticket has also been launched for the competitions on Thursday and Friday. The offer for companies is valid for tickets in the lower tier of the ARENA am Rennsteig as well as at the track - and is an ideal gift for employees and customers. Buyers of a package of ten tickets or more receive a 25 per cent discount. This offer cannot be booked via the ticket shop, but via a form at www.biathlon-oberhof.de.

Pre-Sale at the THÜRINGENS SÜDEN company run

For biathlon fans, it is also worth participating in and cheering on the THÜRINGENS SÜDEN company run next Wednesday, 23 August. Even before the official pre-sale starts the following day, hobby athletes and interested parties can secure tickets. The pre-sale from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. will take place at Rennsteighaus am Grenzadler.
